Meet at Borders book store behind Walgreen's at Simsbury Commons. Bring snacks, lunch and plenty of water. Also $$ if you want Tulmeadow Dairy ice cream after. Back to the cars around 1:15 PM L: Diana Meyer

Sunday, August 8, 9 a.m. PSF, Quarry Hill and the Lookouts.
We will visit quarries that provided building stone for Riverton, explore the quarrying methods and geologic history. We will then climb to the lookouts above the Farmington River, past large glacial boulders, and explore more of our geologic history. Meet at Matthies Grove (main picnic area) at People’s State Forest. Bring water and insect spray. Heavy rain cancels. We will be walking about 2 miles of easy terrain and estimated time is 2 ˝ hours.
