Sunday, August 7, Sun. 9 a.m. PSF, Lighthouse
Site Ramble.
Explore old home sites, cemetery, charcoal hearths, walls, well, rock shelter
and hear stories of this vanished community. We will learn about the Native
Americans, African Americans and colonists who lived along the Wolcott Road.
Meet at Matthies Grove (main picnic area) at Peoples State Forest bring water
and insect spray. Heavy rain cancels. We will be walking about 2 miles of easy
terrain and the estimated time is 2.5 hours. L: Walt Landgraf

Sunday, August 14, Sun. 9 a.m. PSF, Algonquin
Ramble.
We will ramble on and off the trail through the cultural sites of Algonquin
State Forest and explore the history of those who lived here and the early days
on Corliss Mountain.
Meet at Matthies Grove (main picnic area) at Peoples State Forest bring water
and insect spray. Heavy rain cancels. We will be walking about 3 miles of
moderate terrain and the estimated time is 3 hours. L: Walt Landgraf

Sunday, August 21, Sun. 9 a.m. PSF, Indian
Council Cave Hike.
We will visit old Caseville which was abandoned when the reservoir was
built. Also the Indian Council Cave and lookout.
Meet at Matthies Grove (main picnic area) at Peoples State Forest bring water
and insect spray. Heavy rain cancels. We will be walking about 3.5 miles of

Sunday, August 28, Sun. 9 a.m. PSF, Greenwoods
Ramble.
We will visit the site of the Great Mast Swamp, which provided mast and
timber for the early sailing ships, the site of the Greenwoods Company where the
sails were made, Lower Dublin, and the old icehouse sites on the Greenwoods
Pond.
Meet at Matthies Grove (main picnic area) at Peoples State Forest bring water
and insect spray. Heavy rain cancels. We will be walking about 2 miles of easy
