MISSION: "The purpose of the Burlington Library Association, Inc. [also known as Friends of the Library] shall be to plan, develop and conduct such programs as will support a free public library and designed to promote the library and premises as a center for civic and cultural activities." 2013 Spring Used Book Sale
EARLY BIRD SALE: Members & Region 10 faculty get in free. All others $5, or may become a member at the door.
This was the first year Region 10 faculty and staff was
offered free
admission to the book sale on Thursday along with BLA members.
The total amount raised by the sale was $1653.

On behalf of the "Friends of the Library", I'd like to thank the below 26 cake bakers, pie bakers, cookie and bar and candy and fudge makers, whose delicious and creative contributions to this sale brought in $700 for our library from 102 yummy items! I'm delighted.! Congratulations to all!

Saturday, December 8, 2012 10am - 4pm, Good-as-New Book Sale
There
were many books in excellent condition from which to choose. The
collection included hardcover and paperbacks for children and adults.
The Good As New Holiday Book Sale, held on Saturday December 8, 2012, was a success because of our dedicated volunteers and wonderful donations from the community. The total proceeds were over $600.
A big thanks to the following volunteers:
> Elaine Eberhard for coming up with this idea last year and working all year setting aside the books for this sale and keeping the cart upstairs well stock with good reads.> BLA President Anne Walluk who does a great deal to make events successful.

The annual autumn blue-ribbon pie sale was a sweet success; a VERY SWEET SUCCESS!! 34 dedicated bakers made 98 pies which brought in (hold onto your hats!) $1062.50! That's just over $230 more than last October's sale!
